Call Your Congressman or Congresswoman

January 20, 2010
From a friend in California:
Regine Zamor, a friend of mine, is on the ground in Haiti. Her family is from there, and after the earthquake, she bravely went down to help. Here’s a post from her blog:

Both she and news reports indicate that the U.S. military, which has basically taken control of the country, appears to be functioning more as an invasion force than an organization trying to ease human suffering. For example, our military is running the airport in Port-au-Prince, and has turned away a French medical aid flight.(See: http://prorev.com/2010/01/france-carribean-countries-get-blocked.html)
If you can spare the time, a call to your Congressman or -woman calling on the U.S. military to either help with the humanitarian crisis in Haiti or let someone else do the job might be helpful.
